Waxing should NEVER be performed on clients taking Accutane and is not recommended for anyone using Retin A, Renova, Differin, or any skin-thinning acne medications. These medications can cause the skin to lift or tear during waxing.

Always check your product labels and consult your dermatologist before waxing if you’re using any topical or oral medications for acne or anti-aging.

The following medications are NOT compatible with waxing:

You must be off of Accutane (Isotretinoin) for a minimum of 1 YEAR before waxing.

• Accutane (Acne medication)

• Adapalene (Acne medication)

• Alustra (Retin A)

• Tretinoin (Retin A)

Proceed with Caution

These can make your skin extra sensitive, increasing the risk of lifting or irritation during waxing.

Products that make your skin more sensitive to waxing:

• Other acne medications not listed above

• Bleaching agents for hair (especially for the upper lip)

• Skin lighteners (like Hydroquinone or Trilumena)

• Chemical depilatories (such as Nair)

• Benzoyl Peroxide (e.g., ProActive)

• Alpha Hydroxy Acids (like Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid)

• Oral antibiotics

We’re here to protect your skin!
